Georgia is one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world, with a viticultural tradition spanning over 8,000 years. At Saperavi Georgian Restaurant in Winnipeg, we are proud to be the only establishment in Manitoba — and one of a select few in all of Canada — to offer an authentic selection of Georgian wines. Our curated wine list includes iconic varieties such as Kindzmarauli (a naturally semi-sweet red), Khvanchkara (a rare, prized semi-sweet red), Mukuzani (a full-bodied dry red), and Saperavi — the celebrated dry red grape variety from which our restaurant takes its name.

Georgian wine is traditionally made using the qvevri method — large clay vessels buried underground for fermentation — a technique recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
